‘On Air’ was an installation at the Pool Room Gallery at Auckland Studio Potters in 2016 and was inspired by the belief that art can help us to distinguish between healthy and unhealthy perspectives.

In the age of social media, never before have human beings been faced with exposure to so many opinions and perspectives, many of which are based on misinformation – yet who is to decide what is true or false?

‘On Air’ shows primitive, weapon like forms, with audio snippets of talkback radio – intended to represent opinions that appear threatening and dangerous, leading to the question of conscious or unconscious motivations driving peoples views, and leading to the question of what constitutes a ‘healthy perspective’?
